Pre-Treatment Care
- Stay out of the sun or solariums for at least two to four weeks before your treatment, and use ASAP daily moisturiser plus sunscreen SPF30+, applied hourly, while you are exposed. Do not use any form of tanning throughout your treatment – this includes accidental sun exposure, such as driving and daily activities.
- Sun exposure before and after laser hair removal treatments will increase the risk of complications or side effects, such as pigmentation and burns.
- Do not use self-tanning lotions or sprays for one to two weeks before your treatment. The procedure may have to be postponed if you have a tan.
- Do not wax, pluck or bleach for two to four weeks before and during your treatments. You may shave between treatments.
- Do not use Retin A for two weeks prior to treatment.
- Do not use Roaccutane for six months prior to treatment.
- Please shave the treatment area ONE day prior to your appointment.
Post-Treatment Care
- Apply soothing gel to the treated area for three days.

- For treatment of facial areas, MySkin Clinics offers (for purchase) a customised post-laser facial pack, containing soothing gel, tyrosinase inhibitor and SPF, selected to suit your individual skin type.
- Avoid exercise or any activity causing perspiration for at least 24 hours.
- Redness is common for a couple of hours to a couple of days following treatment. The redness is a natural response, and usually disappears within a few hours. In some cases, it can last longer, but it is unlikely to last more than two days.
- Until redness has completely subsided, avoid performing activities that that cause excessive perspiration in the treated area.
- Avoid swimming pools and spas treated with chemicals or chlorine until the skin returns to its normal condition.
- You may shower afterwards, using lukewarm water, but avoid hot showers until the skin returns to its normal condition.
- Wash the treated area gently with mild, unscented soap and pat dry (do not rub).
- In the unusual case of crusting or swelling, apply a soothing gel, and please advise us immediately. Do not pick at these areas, as this may result in infection.
- Avoid exercise or any activity causing perspiration for at least 24 hours.
