Dermablading
Dermablading for smooth, fuzz-free skin
Dermablading/Epidermal Levelling is an effective, clinical treatment that exfoliates and removes ‘peach fuzz’ from the surface of the skin.
What is Dermablading?
Dermablading/Epidermal Levelling is an effective clinical treatment that exfoliates and removes ‘peach fuzz’ from the surface of the skin, revealing the fresh, smoother skin beneath.
How does it work?
Dermablading is a technique that utilises a specially designed surgical instrument to carefully remove the topmost layers of the skin. Treatment involves the glide of a gentle, surgical blade, decongesting and resurfacing the skin, resulting in smooth, soft and supple complexion. Dermablading gives the skin a smoother appearance by removing dead skin cells along with the fine vellus hair.
The process improves the skin’s texture allowing active cosmeceutical skincare to penetrate and encourage cellular growth.

Preparation
- If you are using prescription skin care products containing Retin-A or hydroquinone, you will need to stop using them 1 week before treatment. You may resume their use 1 week after treatment. If you are using any products containing AHA’s, BHA’s or retinol stop using it 3 days before your treatment and you can start using them again 3 days after treatment. Skin that has been overexposed to the sun or is sunburnt should not be treated.
- If you are prone to herpes simplex (cold sores), it is recommended to take or apply a targeted preventative treatment to avoid possible outbreak.
- For optimum results and to reduce complications it is advised to prepare the treatment area with Vitamin A as well as Vitamin C. MySkin Clinics recommends the daily application of Environ, Cosmedix or Aspect Dr skincare.
- For tanned to dark complexions or skins prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, it is recommended to use a melanin inhibiting skin regime for at least 2 weeks prior to any treatment for best results.
Aftercare
- The procedure may cause light peeling, dryness, redness, scabbing or slight scratching of the skin. During the skin healing process, oiliness, redness, flaking or scratches may be present. If symptoms persist or you have any concerns, please call your MySkin Clinics practitioner.

How does the treatment work?
This procedure involves the use of a patented blade that works by safely removing surface dead skin cells and fine down-like hair on the face that makes it difficult for products to penetrate and aids the smooth application of makeup.
What does the skin feel and look like straight after a treatment?
After treatment, the skin feels smooth, soft and hydrated with no severe redness or downtime.
Does the treatment hurt?
No. This procedure can be carried out in a lunch hour, allowing you to get straight back to the day’s activities, with no down time at all. Painless and time effective.
How long does it take?
Approximately 30-45 minutes.
Are there any side effects?
Following the treatment initially your skin may appear slightly pink, dependant on how sensitive your skin is. This is a result of increased circulation in this area and usually fades quite quickly.
Can I combine Dermablading with other treatments?
Yes. The best feature of Dermablading is that it actually enhances the results of other skin treatments such as skin peels and anti-wrinkle injections.
How often should I have a treatment?
Number of treatments depends on skin’s condition and the results you want to achieve. We recommend having this treatment at a 2 to 4 week interval to maintain skin clarity and vellus hair.
