How does Microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion uses a one-use diamond head to mechanically exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and impurities. A fruit enzyme mask is then applied to buff away dead skin cells, followed by extractions if required. This treatment will leave your skin feeling soft, refreshed and revitalised. Treatment can be conveniently completed within your lunch hour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there any downtime after Microdermabrasion?

Generally, no, but you may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after the treatment. Most people are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the treatment. Application of a breathable mineral foundation will seal the skin and cover any redness for an immediate return to work.

Is it painful?

The sensation is comparable to a standard microdermabrasion and there is no need for any anaesthesia.

How long does it take before I see results?

Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will become visible after 4 to 6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). The condition of your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments, especially when combined with the recommended post treatment care.

How soon after Cosmetic injectables can I have a Microdermabrasion?

While there is no clinical evidence that Microdermabrasion treatments counteract with any particular injectables, it is important to let your Skin Therapist know if you have had a Cosmetic Injectables treatment, or are planning on having one done in the near future. Your Skin Therapist will be able to advise you on when to schedule your treatment appropriately.
